I continue to look for God everywhere, every day, and I’ve not been disappointed. Listening to an Abide meditation this morning I was struck by how easily we can, and often do, fall back into old, comfortable, not healthy habits. Walking out of the post office, someone yells, “You have a beautiful smile,” as I walk past their car. Pulling out of my end-of-a-lousy-day-stupor I pause and look over at the car across from me. I didn’t realize I was smiling. It truly was a lousy day, and I had just given myself a pep-talk, coming out of the post office. “Lift your head, shoulders down and back. This was Maggie at eight months of age. Those eyes, kind, loving eyes. She has blessed my socks off, which is very unusual, as I wear my socks all the time. She keeps me sane. When I don’t feel like moving, I move, because potty time for Maggie. Should anyone eavesdrop on me and my pets, conversations would most certainly be entertaining.
