In 2012, my life forever changed, began again. I entered the workforce for the first time in decades. Things change, in decades, a lot.
Going back to school, my fall semester taught me so much. I rocked it, not because I'm brilliant, but because I learned I'm tenacious. I was diligent to hustle, knuckle down, and produce satisfying, solid projects. My professors were the absolute best, requiring me to go back, try again, better prepare, think deeper, and never give up. They gave me wings, taught me indeed, I can do the work, and life. I can excel.
I'm not the same person I was in 2012 — scared, shaky, and afraid to fail, afraid to try — not by a long shot. Now, I make the most of my newfound knowledge, and I continue to learn, every day. A mentor taught me: when doubts and feelings of failure come, remember the data.
You too, my friends, can rock it, find success. Step out in faith.
Aside from the births of my children, these have been the best years of my life. Not easy, far from easy at times. Each day I take one step at a time, sometimes one minute at a time.
I've found my words, my voice.
These are my stories, my journey.
Welcome.
