New Tires

I'm getting new tires today. And rear brakes. And a serpentine belt, along with an oil change. I even purchased a primo set of wiper blades. My Man is preparing me a laundry list of maintenance items, preventive and otherwise, I need to tend to sooner rather than later.

Subaru's are the go-to car here in The West it seems. And I wouldn't mind owning something with a little more ground clearance.

But my Honda.

This car is the Little Engine That Could and Does. I've put her through everything imaginable, including, of course, extreme weather conditions. She sits out in the element’s day after day, winter after winter, and never lets me down. The few times she's struggled has been due to property neglect, nothing she or I have any control over. Or owner neglect and I do have control over this. Today I'm remedying several items on our to-do list, a combo platter of sorts.

So, I like this man. He treats me well. He's no longer in Jackson. I drive south so he and his guys can make all things, my Honda, good again.

Most unfortunate in Jackson is the cost of everything. I take most expenses in stride, it's part of living in the most beautiful place in the world. However, when brakes and rotors are estimated around $2500, I feel none of the warm and fuzzys. In fact, I feel violated. I knew this was wrong, very wrong. With resources available to fact-check any and everything, why do people do this, gouge the dickens out of one another?

I'll answer my own question.

Because they can.

When I walked out to get in my car, I was blown away by the beauty of my new tires. And tread. I have a metric butt-ton of tread.

I'll post a pic of my 'flat' tire from last week. (I find these pictures odd, strange.)

I will never go so long without new tires ever again.

Never.

Ever.

I was dealing with other life happenings. I know, it's bad. Tell me there's a God without telling me there's a God. He watches out for me, but I know He expects better from me. I'll do better. My angels work overtime.
