Tell the Stories

It was too early to crawl out of my warm comfy bed. Despite my best effort sleep, shifty slippery sleep, was not to be found.

It seems God had other plans.

Writing comes and writing goes. Strike while the iron is hot. Make hay while the sun shines.

People, my favorite field of study. Our masterful creator endows every mind with greatness.

Recently I had the pleasure of meeting a gifted scientist, thrown into my quiet life unexpectedly. His brilliant mind has and continues to develop cutting edge, lifesaving technology, none of which he boisterously boasted of. I often glean enough information to research at a later, more convenient time.

Wow.

Another person, several months ago, possesses some of my traits. Reading others. A sixth sense similar to mine. Over a short period of time, we developed a strong bond, she, and I. "It must be hard, living with a heart so open." Indeed. Both blessing and curse. Knowledge. She freely shared knowledge and wisdom. I thanked her as we part ways. "It was in you all along, realization and knowledge," she tells me. To this day she continues to encourage. I recently received a beautiful handwritten note, rare in today's busy world. When others take time to hand write notes, wisdom is shared. These are gifts greater than silver and gold. Convince me otherwise.

There was the lovely southern lady from Alabama. Our conversation, southern commonalties and such, eventually lead to her asking me if I've heard of 'chocolate gravy'. I have not. Her husband almost drools (he loves her deeply) as she encourages me to make some homemade biscuits and prepare her famous chocolate gravy. As most good southern women often do, she has the recipe committed to memory, a pinch of this, dash of that. Last week I received an email from her, fine tuning the recipe.

Bonds.

There was the military gentleman with a wife gifted to him by the Creator, perfect for him, one complimenting the other, she a very strong supporter of the man she clearly loves after many years together. His history I also had to research, not freely given by him. Let's just say his resume is rather impressive. He and his wife are people of strong faith. This, their convictions, renews MY faith.

Texans. I see you often. My home state is well represented here in the great state of Wyoming.

And there was a message on my cell phone I didn't notice until returning home from work. A personal message from one of our nation's heroes. A man who was taken to the morgue as medical personnel thought him to be dead. There was no way he could have survived the attack. God had other plans. And I had a message from this man letting me know I'd won a gift greater than any other, only because I supported in a very small way our warriors. The gift, not the material, though it's fantastic, but the greatest gift being conversing with a pretty neat individual.

I prayed this morning; I pray every morning and often throughout the day. Today was different. I don't know what the future holds and though praying deep requests for a mad world, I also have a supernatural peace only He can give. A few encounters, of which there are many, are mentioned today. I'm heartened with offerings of our nation and our world. We have much more in common than evil would have us believe.

Look for commonalities.

Look for love.

Love never fails.

Good far outweighs bad.

Stories await you too.
