Food Shed Idaho

Visited with Food Shed Idaho several weeks ago. Pictured are my latest splurges. I'm a big fan of olive oil, good olive oil. This oil is single varietal. I have Texas to thank for indulging me and getting me hooked. Everyone needs a good friend (enabler).

I decided to go big or go home and purchased the most expensive pasta I've ever purchased. Plans were to use this for my homemade marinara. Plans change. I had a hankering for chicken spaghetti and didn't have any of the generic under a dollar grocery store variety. Primo spaghetti it is.

Never in my life have I enjoyed pasta like Mancini. It was worth every dime. Seldom enjoying pasta as it permanently attaches to my hiney, I'm never satisfied with a little, and I'm left bloated and puffy. This was different in every way. With millions of words available you would think I could find the perfect descriptive for Mancini. Nope. Spectacular taste elevated ordinary chicken spaghetti comfort food to another level. A small pasta bowl full was filling and satisfying. I'm not a bloated mess. Mancini is fantastic, so special I'll save and splurge again.

Sharing my newfound goodness with a new acquaintance recently:

"Are you Italian? You look Italian."

I wanted to laugh out loud. I've never been asked if I'm Italian. Maybe that's why the Italian gentleman and I get along so well.

Anyway, acquaintance is lovely and turns me on to The Food Nanny in Montana. Check her out. Also do an internet search for Kamut. Good stuff. Cook for your family, fresh, they are worth it. You are worth it.

We also discussed various types of salt, fleur de sel, Celtic Sea salt, so forth. I'm telling you, there's a difference in salt varieties, a noticeable difference. When I cut out 'most' processed food, began using Celtic Sea salt, I noticed my blood pressure returning to my 20-year-old levels. Personally, I don't believe salt is the devil. I believe it's the type of salt causing problems. Eat the chicken, spit out the bones. Don't agree, no problem. Something is working for me.

Today I reached out to Cecily at Food Shed Idaho. She educates me, offering her expertise, time, and honest opinion. Of course, I placed a new order. And she encouraged me to check out The Food Nanny.

My two cents for today.

I love all y'all.
