Today I find myself returning to the story of David.
David and Goliath.
Men and women are men and women.
No superpowers.
Britches put on one leg at a time. Every. Day.
Even giants put their pants on one leg at a time.
Some are talented and possess work ethics and intelligence almost beyond human.
Many, many more men and women lack any moral compass, ethically corrupt, and pure evil.
The latter, pride, and all — great will be their fall.
Politicians, leaders of every nation, business owners, all the way down hierarchy to entitled employees, fraudulent, unscrupulous, rotten, and unprincipled in every way, their downfall will be swift and wicked ugly.
I remind myself often in these nutso times:
God knew this would happen before I was ever born.
Give it to God, D.
Put on the full armor of God.
Pray a hedge of protection.
Hold your head up, not pridefully, but with courage.
Trust what you often tell others, God has this situation. God is in control. God is faithful. Always.
Walk by faith.
And so, I recall scripture, survivors, and fighters in the bible.
Sometimes before I go to bed, I seek YouTube videos with hours upon hours of scripture to quietly play throughout the night, to fill my tiny home with that which I believe to be absolute truth. And to give me peace and renew much needed strength.
The things we see are temporary and often not legitimate nor absolute.
I was taught many years ago believe none of what you hear and half of what you see.
Pure truth.
Narratives of all sorts are manipulated to suit individual selfish, wacked, wicked desires.
We, my friends, are never alone, though the world likes us to believe have been deserted, and hope is a fairytale in a world gone crazy.
The Good News awaits each of us, mercies renewed every morning. Grace, peace, and hope are found in Christ.
Be of good courage.
Never give up.
Never quit.
