Freedom Wagyu

I'd wanted to try wagyu beef for some time just to see what the hype was about. Driving to Alpine for an appointment, Grazing Star Ranch met me during a significant snowstorm, personally delivering several pounds of guaranteed goodness, one hundred percent full blood wagyu.

The last few years I've stepped up my food game, choosing fresh local goodness. I see it as an investment in health.

And I'm hooked.

I ration my packets; this is a real treat. I drool typing.

I've read all the descriptions:  umami, buttery, good fats, juicy deliciousness. To all these descriptive I say YES!!! A big hearty yes!

Whipping out my cast iron skillet I made primo hamburgers. I'd picked up fresh mushrooms, as I'd been told wagyu is extra juicy and I wanted to utilize every ounce of juice. Once my burgers were ready and set aside covered in foil, I tossed sliced mushrooms in the skillet and let wagyu fat work its magic. I then toasted my whole grain bread in the remaining fat, along with a pat of butter.

Oh, my goodness.

Descriptions really don't do justice. I can't explain the taste.

Ambrosia.

Maggie Rose the Schnauzer even got in on the deal, a tiny bit, as mama was selfish.

She and I? We are blessed and we know it.

Happy happy!!
