I Wonder

I stopped by the grocery store on my way home. Strolling the produce aisle someone announces over the speakers, in a fairly sarcastic voice:

“Attention associates, pizza is now available in the break room.”

I’m trying not to giggle as my eyes meet those of a gentleman, a very serious looking gentleman. With a perfectly straight face he tells me, “Well, I think I’ll just skip dinner and have pizza.” No smile, nothing. He kept shopping as if he didn't say a word. I nearly busted a gut. Deep belly laugh. I was telling an associate what the man said, as I was at the checkout. I could hardly tell her the story. By the time I wrapped up my purchases, we were all laughing. Ten to one he could have pulled it off. Walked in the break room and picked up a slice or two of pizza.

It's all about attitude.

Sense of humor, often a sign of brilliance, do you think?

So, I wonder.

I wonder if he has a natural curiosity about life, learning, languages, everything.

I wonder if he has experienced life a million different ways.

I wonder if he loves deeply, unconditionally, without ideals or reservations.

I wonder if he's talented in so many ways one can only imagine when imagination isn't finite.

I wonder if he has a deep love of all things music.

I wonder if he loves nature and fishing and hiking and picnics.

I wonder if he likes culinary adventures in the home kitchen and in restaurants.

I wonder if he's into adventure, all sorts of adventure.

I wonder if he knows how to plant a seed, cultivate, water, watch it produce beautiful fruit.

I wonder if he loves deeply all critters.

I wonder if he cares about mankind despite corrupt humanity.

I wonder if he knows how to protect that in which he finds value.

I wonder if he's good with his hands.

I wonder if he knows Christ intimately.

I wonder more.

So much more.

I wonder.

I should've brought him home along with my purchases.
