Spicy

Grabbing a cup of java and sitting quietly, writing at my computer was the plan.

I purdy-fide my freshly cut hair, slipped on a pair of black jeans, Texas Forever tee, and a touch of red lipstick. I was ready to write.

Plot twist.

I instead walked town square visiting with all my girls, catching up on life.

Wendy posted earlier in the day about her and her colleagues' Taco Tuesday at Merry Piglets. MP is the closest to Tex-Mex that I’ve found in Jackson. After visiting with the ladies, I headed to Merry Piglets. Met by Ezra, I asked for a booth, always my first choice, I like the cozy feel of a booth. Ezra is from San Diego, his family from Tijuana. He's looking forward to visiting Texas and getting the down-low on our version of THE BOMB Mexican food. He mentioned Austin and I added San Antonio to his wish list. Here's the deal though. Downtown Bryan, Texas can't be beat for spicy goodness. Hole-in-the-wall eateries throughout Texas is commonplace, Mom and Pop shops with crazy good homemade tortillas, enchiladas, tacos, and so much more. Anytime one gets a hankering for spice choices abound.

It seems I hanker often for righteous spice.

Twisted Cowgirl Dip at Merry Piglets is my favorite. Generous servings are enough for two meals, nothing else needed. BUT I ordered a good old fashioned crunchy beef taco for good measure. No street taco, no shrimp or mahi mahi taco, just a ground beef crunchy taco. It was so flippin’ good. It’s been a hot minute, crunchy tacos and me.

Heather picked up where Ezra left off, each covering one for another. Heather hails from Colorado, residing in Jackson for seven years. She knows her stuff.

I survived my first solo outing in a long time; an early evening dinner hit the spot.

This was good for me, getting out and enjoying folks. And spice. Don't forget the spice.
