What's Next

Oh man. The feels.

I'm still not rich. With wealth often comes problems. I've seen it all. I'm not opposed to being a smidge more comfortable.

Anonymity isn't what it once was. Down-low is my comfy place.

"The main reason I’ve not started a blog - fear. I’m happy, why jeopardize the peace and happiness I’ve found? You guys are my comfy little audience."

Fear.

Fear is a liar.

Peace and happiness? You can't put a price on peace and happiness. I let very little nonsense in the lives of Maggie and Me.

I started the blog, writing often. Stepping out further? I'm unsure where I will go from here.

Change is coming.

For ten years this time of year has provided profound life change.

What's next?

I'm waiting, expecting goodness.

December 2018

On my phone when I arrived home tonight...

Friend:

D, we need to talk! Seriously! You are going to be rich and famous w/your amazing writing and personality! Happy hour at my place across from library. When are u working in town? I have to show you what a success my daughter’s friend has become. Reminds me of you!

Me:

Made me laugh. I can handle rich it’s the famous I can’t handle. I love my anonymity.

Friend:

Seriously, I want to show you a possibility. This friend has gone viral!!! Is that the word?? Lol?? I’m sure it’s been financially rewarding! Maybe u should gather a portfolio of your essays and participate in the JH Writers’ Conference this summer. Editors there!

So, my friend has friends, good friends, talented friends. Friend will be in LA over the holidays. I will get with friend after the new year. Friend is gifted, seriously, but I don’t want to ‘out’ friend just yet.

The main reason I’ve not started a blog - fear. I’m happy, why jeopardize the peace and happiness I’ve found? You guys are my comfy little audience.

Before moving to WY, I jokingly told one of my alphabet agency friends if he would do the publicity, I would handle the writing.

I dated an English professor, a distinguished gentleman, from a lovely university here in these United States. He was attracted to the profile I wrote. (A psychologist friend told me I could make a living writing profiles for business professionals, very successful women, but they couldn’t get a date. Psychologist friend was privy to many conversations concerning lovely gentlemen I’ve met. Indeed, I’ve hooked a friend or two up with men I’ve met, wonderful men, good men.)

I tell you all this as a way of saying ‘maybe’ this is what I’m meant to do. Y’all tell me it is, and you wouldn’t lead me astray.

We’ll see...
