My mama friends are responsibly for my chubby status. Browsing postings each day, recipes abound, along with new-to-me seasonings, for example Serendipity Salt. I'm outta the loop. After a quick web search, I head over to Pinterest. Today I made a type of Serendipity Salt. I believe it's better than Lawrys. Plus I utilize sea salt. As a staple for several generations, I wanted an alternative with no additives, but lots of flavor. Bingo.
I pick up a salad on the way to work each week. Huge and delicious, lasting a couple three meals, ranch dressing is included, homemade. I asked a gentleman where they get their ranch. "To be honest, out of a packet." He also passes on an interesting article concerning best ranch, best ketchup, and mustard. In my humble opinion, he, and the article, are right. Next up today was homemade ranch dressing. I didn't purchase the packet; I prepared my own seasoning, no additives. Good stuff. I will say this: In a pinch, I favor Ken's bottled ranch over Hidden Valley bottled dressing. It's straight up the bomb, on salads, chicken strips, pizza (which I seldom enjoy these days, but on occasion), mozzarella sticks, you name it.
Big, huge, wet snowflakes fall as I type. And as I prepared seasonings to jar for future use. I whipped up a good 'ol Olive Garden type salad. Aren't they the best?!! I usually don't enjoy my salads as much as I enjoy someone else preparing a salad, especially Olive Garden. It's been over ten years, a trip to OG. Hard to believe. Anyway, salad was divine. I added a mini buffalo chicken wrap with a slice of Swiss. Delicious.
Baking for dinner is a rack of ribs seasoned with newly concocted Serendipity Salt.
Apparently I'm in a Southern frame of mind today.
