I'm watching a most interesting video. Funny enough, it concerns trust and building relationships.
Crazy example...Milosevic and Holbrooke were negotiating. Negotiations had been ongoing for weeks concerning the Bosnian war, and peace. Milosevic and Holbrooke, at this particular time, were in Dayton, Ohio. (Does anyone else find this intriguing?) Anyway, they were drinking scotch, a LOT of scotch, so much that they named a corridor in the former Yugoslavia "Scotch Road". At two in the morning, apparently sloshed, they announced they had a deal. It seems Holbrooke, an excellent negotiator, gained quite a bit of trust with Milosevic while drinking. Milosevic exposed too much vulnerability (alcohol), and not thinking of consequences of vulnerability, was later prosecuted for war crimes.
Relationships are tricky.
For what it's worth.
