I requested and she delivered, she gave me words, much needed words.
“I think we are in a transitioning season, and you are feeling the heaviness of it. Hang tight sister.”
An understatement, transitioning season. The most beautiful time of year and my favorite time of year, we are transitioning to Fall.
My neighbor, to whom I didn’t speak the first several years here in the Wild West, left yesterday, moved to Mexico. When I looked out my window late yesterday evening and his RV was gone, I felt nauseating loss. We will stay in touch, but I still feel loss: comfortable friendship and familiarity.
Transitioning season.
We celebrated this week a life of uncommon grace, a life beautifully lived. She was loved and is missed.
Transitioning season.
I share my deep funk with a couple solid ladies, neither of whom know the extent of events of the last month. I have my big girl britches on and I deal.
“So so soooo sorry you’re feeling like this. It’s no fun for sure.
Main thing is don’t beat yourself up…but get up!
You’ve got to get outside. Our bodies crave the SONshine!
ANY movement is great in my book.
I’m here to help you anyway I can. I’m praying now for you a renewed spirit full of vigor and vitality in the name of Jesus! ILYSM ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Turn on that worship music and sink into the awe and wonder of His majesty. He will carry your tired soul. He will also restore it…let Him.”
So, I moved my body as I’ve known to do for decades. Nature and exercise heal. I moved my body again the next day, and I’ll move again today and tomorrow.
I pray, sing, praise God for every good thing, even hard change and deep loss.
I shared with another friend yesterday the words Dimaggio gave me, words that helped me make it through the last 24 hours and reminded me how important mindset is. We can and should change and improve mindset.
From Texas:
“Made me think of your Sheri — Light in a messenger’s eyes brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.” Proverbs 15:30
Yep. You bring joy to the heart, dear messenger. You are a vessel sharing His goodness.
I needed the words of both my solid friends like only they know.
A couple of us are creatives, not everyone’s cup of tea. Creatives are known for funks and such it seems. Dear friend reminds me, “Grace. Grace. Creatives especially need Grace. We are not in everyone’s box for sure, but that’s our superpower! We live outside the box where life gets a facelift so to speak and it becomes colorful.”
Her tips to me:
Recognize the funk.
Wallow in it for a bit if you must.
Speak to it.
Move on from it.
Periodttt. Time isn’t stopping for anyone.
From childhood I’ve had a sixth sense. It’s strange and can be unsettling at times. Through the years though I I’ve become hypervigilant to this sixth sense, especially with world events becoming more and more chaotic. My goal today and moving forward is to change my mindset, forging new neurons and neural pathways. Intuitive traits will of course continue, they are part of me, innately. Benefits outweigh risks. Harnessing pesky intuitive traits calms my spirit. I need this. Calm.
All this sounds kinda woo woo. I’m not the woo woo type. Take from this what you will.
Dimaggio messaged me yesterday:
“How are you moving your body today?”
Any way I can sister, any way I can!
“Take a deep breath and go be great today…because you can and because you are!”
Forward momentum.
Change your mindset.
Prayerfully, carefully consider people in your life.
How do you deal with inevitable funk?
I share this because I know others deal with funky town. You’re not alone.
You too, take a deep breath and go out and be great today; you are strong.
