Roof

Daughter sent this song to me today.

She was on her way to class. Mother of three littles and wife to a wonderful big ‘un, now living in Colorado.

A couple of my kids are inching closer to the Wild West. I would love if eventually they were all here. All three are nature lovers, outdoor types.

She’s back in school, again, hopefully a lifelong learner. Nursing. (Big ‘un is also back in school, nursing as well, prerequisites.)

She was on the way to class, stressing about a test and money.

I give her the only wisdom I have today:

If you’ve studied you’ve done your part. Lay worry aside. Money? It always takes care of itself.

My kids know how to work. They also learn more on accident than I do on purpose.

She hears this song.

THIS.

'Cause I got a roof over my head

I got a warm body in bed

I'm doing alright right where I'm at

With what I have

That right there is wisdom. And she shared this nugget with mama.

Maybe I wept, just a little.

I love you daughter, big.
