Annihilation

"You are so patient."

Well, yes mostly, but let's gently consider your statement.

Patience is generally extend to all. I prefer patience and mercy extended to me, as well. I believe verbally assaulting others, belittling humans or animals, are dick moves and those type moves chap my tush. Tolerating such behavior generally is not allowed if ol' soft heart is nearby.

It's character related, don't you think, treating others with respect, or with contempt? Choices...

Should ongoing disrespect keep trucking unchecked, we have a large-scale problem. Verbal annihilation is verging on undeniable certainty.

Tempering temper equals wisdom.

Praying for wisdom and applying wisdom are at times mutually exclusive, unfortunately. I'm guilty. Genuinely checking thoughts and attitude benefit a wisdom mindset.

While I take no pleasure verbally unleashing on anyone, it infrequently happens, but can and will. Usually, directly related to my personality type, emotional distraught ensues if I proceed with a verbal offensive. I seldom experience guilty feels, speaking up for others. Speaking up for myself? Yeah, distraught conscience talks to me.

Imagine my surprise when a trusted Texas advisor suggests I read, "The Art of War." This made me laugh out loud.

The book was purchased.

Trusted Texas advisor knows me well, very well. She grows weary, I'm quite sure, of my reluctance to engage in confrontation. I'm learning. Confrontation is best served quietly, with a side-dish of dignity, so as not to unleash juicy clusters of regret.

We are all different. Remember my Aunt's teaching, "Anytime I judge only serves to make me look like a fool." The same can be said for prematurely confronting life situations.

Practice restraint and if a response is necessary — moderation — when tempted to pop off random criticisms.

If you are at level 40, 50, or 60, these lessons should've been learned and applied decades ago.

We continue to learn.
