Insecurity Be Gone

He asked me to join him, and friends, for dinner. Who will be attending, I ask. A Marine, a Navy guy, and a General.

No. Way.

I was freshly divorced, shaky on good days. Insecurities flowed like the Snake River during snowmelt. Within seconds countless thoughts flew through my mind. I declined an offer I now regret declining. I never told him why.

Making conversation with world-class gents and significant others scared me. But here's the deal—I wouldn't have to say much of anything, smile, nod, listen and learn. I LOVE opportunities like this. Now. Now, not then. I receive a free education with every person I meet, world leaders, professors, friends, and colleagues.

A bumpy road, a less traveled road is an exquisite opportunity for growth.

Never say no to opportunities to learn.
