I’ve had more fun the last few weeks, meeting people. I've been tired, physically and mentally. I need to get outside, live. So, celebrating with these particular people was a real treat.
First up, two ladies one from Houston, one from La Jolla. One is the 1st Vice President of Republican Women of California. GET. OUT. Republican women can be found in Cali? Yep. (Politicians want us to think we are alone in our beliefs. I've learned this week we are NOT alone. Isolating us is only one way to assert control. A large percentage of people I meet are Independents, Republicans, independent thinkers, men and women, visiting beyond liberal, off the chain Teton County.) The ladies request I text them information on how I style my hair, products, and who cuts my hair. How sweet. I obliged, sending them more information than they will ever need. Before picking up dinner for her and her friend, she stops by the next day to say hi. She went out of her way to stop by, as they are not staying at our location, but, she tells me, they will be staying here next time. These are more than passing acquaintances. I'm am grateful every day for people like this. Soon I will see them again.
Four ladies from Seattle visited with me. Absolute delights, every one of them, they shared stories of their friendship over the years, their love of fashion and all things beautiful. Posing on the mountain top with hot pink bikini tops and ski pants, pure joy and fun was abundantly apparent. One tells me, "Look at Scottie's boobs, aren't they gorgeous?" I laugh, yes indeed, they are magnificent. These gorgeous women are lively, intelligent, and made my day. Their husbands are out and about on the mountain, and they are making me laugh, spreading joy. One asks me, as her friend and I share very similar thoughts on various world events, "Are you sure you didn’t give up a daughter at birth 38 years ago?" I tell ya what, I'd sure claim her as my own.
Louis Vuitton, Celine, VSL, each of them carried gorgeous handbags, and my daughter-from-another-mother also included a very cool Celine wallet in her Louis. (Secretly I would LOVE a Celine like hers!) Generally I'm not a fan of Louis. I know, some of you are gasping, appalled. But here's the deal: until I met these ladies, most Louis look alike to me, and some would never know if they were purchased out of the trunk of a car in NYC, or purchased at an exclusive boutique for thousands of dollars. (Don't judge, this is only my uneducated thoughts and observations.) Also, generally speaking, I'm not big on wearing or sporting a brand. It's just me. I love beautiful things, but I do not want a big brand entering the room before I enter. It's just me. I know plenty who love branding. I'm not judging them. We are all different. BUT, let me tell you, these ladies didn't carry the usual designer handbags. Their choices were absolutely stunning, unique, and I could buy a nice car for the cost of these, I'm quite sure. I could see myself purchasing one, were I wealthy. Now, don't judge their choices. If they can afford these, and I'm quite sure they can, just know that these women are givers too, they share their wealth with others. What I say, concerning wealth and purchases, if I had the means, each time I spent on luxury items, I would give AT LEAST that much to missions, animal shelters, whatever. I would never run out of people to assist. Homeless (their is NO good reason for people to be homeless. None.) So, remember, don't judge.
One of my favorites stops by, her and her daughter. Her experience is vast, born into a national political family most would recognize. Each time we meet, I'm taught humor, grace, intelligence, compassion, and how to live a better life.
One more special lady...She is a seven year survivor of stage IV ovarian cancer. She is a beautiful soul. I never would have guessed she had been through hell. Vivacious and friendly, we came to know one another well. I'm blown away by her tenacity, and her continued love of life and people. She's healthy and grateful. I'm thankful God has blessed her with health, for selfish reasons (she touched my life), as well as the well known fact that I'm beyond empathetic, sympathetic, and full of mercy. I pray continued health for her, such a jewel. She has so many stories to share, and lives to bless.
I hope you stop and take the time to learn about others, letting first impressions slide. God will bless your soul, just as He blesses mine.
xoxo
