Below is one of the best reads in a while, and timely. I’d not thought about Daniel lately. Honestly, I’ve thought more about evil.
I’m a Peter, I’ve told you this before. I’m not always proud of my bad Peter tendencies, but I own them, and God still loves me.
I hope this speaks to you as well.
I’ll cut your ear off, leave them alone. 😘
Goodnight,
Petra
"I haven’t been able to shake this story with everything going on, so while reading and studying this morning I came across this and had a few thoughts I wanted to share.
Regardless of your political views, please hear me out. Your candidate may win, he may not (poor Kanye) 😅
“When Daniel learned that the decree had been signed and posted, he continued to pray just as he had always done. His house had windows in the upstairs that opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he knelt there in prayer, thanking and praising his God.” — Daniel 6:10
Just imagine what Daniel felt, what Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah (Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego) felt when they were exiled in Babylon. Their leader didn’t follow God. Their faith and the culture they were placed in collided.
Sound familiar?
Our faith (or mine anyways) and the culture of our society wrestle and contest with each other.
So what did those guys do when that happened? They were obedient to God’s word, obedient to their faith.
They were steadfast. They were grounded. They were strong and determined to follow the Lord obediently regardless of the outcome! Regardless of the threat of bodily harm, social outcast, and any other negative result you can fathom.
Let us be so grounded in the Word and so in love with our creator that we are obedient, regardless of who is in the White House, Senate or House of Representatives! Buckle that Belt of Truth. Put on your Helmet of Salvation. Be equipped with your Breastplate of Righteousness. Carry the Sheild of Faith. Dig in and stay in the Sword of the Spirit. Be in PRAYER.
Grab your boots and lace ‘em up!
It is time to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Let’s armor up! Stand firm! Spread the gospel! Love each other! Be obedient!
