Burpees

This is Yvi. Yvi is a beast. Don't let that pretty face fool you.

I just finished my first ATTACK class in years. Hearing Yvi's voice, seeing faces I recognized, this was a good good day. My squats and lunges are good, as these are what I work on most at home and hiking. My cardio sucks, as does upper body strength. I'm beet red, sweating like a beast, and I've never felt better. Burpees, I did my first set of burpees in over a year. Woohoooo!!!! I didn't even know if I could get up off the floor, but I DID! Momentum was in my favor! DON'T PAUSE at the bottom! 😅

This is what I learned today:

I can do more than I thought I could. (Isn't this the way it always is? My knee feels great, it's my breathing I need to fine-tune.)

I hope I get to jump again at some point, I need to check with my doctors, I want to do it all.

When one has surgery or injuries, I think the worst part are the other body parts that suffer! I'm serious. Things atrophy fast. Use it or lose it folks, everything, brain and body.

The power of good memories, friends, and instructors/teachers is priceless. Oh my soft heart. I experienced a little bit of the Heart of Texas today.

Thank you Yvi for putting this together, and for sending me the invite. I LOVE you!

xoxo

Postscript:

There is a direct correlation between my mental health and how much I move my body. Whether hiking mountains or working out in my tiny place, exercising is my drug of choice. Move it sista.
