Pandemic Moderation

Note to self a couple days ago, a gentle reminder, because I seem to have a difficult time remembering good nutrition lately. The note is right beside my coffee supplies, I can’t miss it.

Cucumbers, cucumbers are crunchy. Almonds, ditto. So are peanut M&M’s and Hershey’s milk chocolate toffee. 🤦‍♀️

So I baked today, carbs out the wazoo. Let’s pretend it was a scheduled cheat day. I partook of one, and half of another, huge kolaches. These little darlings are filled with sauerkraut, cheese, jalapeños, and sausage, a couple of each. The remaining pant-busters are in the freezer for safe keeping.

I also re-merchandised my kitchen today, it looks brand new, clean. Merchandising practice is always good. I found things I forgot I have, while straightening lower cabinets.

I purchased rice recently, the only kind available, long grain. I was lucky to get that, as hoarders gonna hoard. Maggie needed rice. Anyway, I like sticky rice, and to make the best sticky rice, one doesn’t want to use long grain, apparently. Amazon sent me a five pound bag of the perfect rice, hopefully. So, my newly cleaned and merchandised kitchen is waiting for the next time I feel an urge to carb load, um, cook, bake. (There is the ten pound bag of flour for beer bread and yeasty bread too.) 🤷‍♀️

Maggie was sitting in the corner while I rolled dough. Thinking I can make her a little more comfortable, I get one of her blankies. I work a bit, turn around, and this is what I see, bottom picture.

Opportunist.
