Teach Me

I took a snow day today, not venturing into town for essentials. Tomorrow is a must day for essentials. Kinda. Besides, I need a good, long walk.

George and Maggie are snuggled in tight tonight. The love they show me is pretty spectacular. I’ve left the window open, for the time being, for the fresh, crisp, cool air. Our family is a happy family.

After reading a friend's post last night, I explored more of Mary Oliver’s writings. Hers are words I often think, concerning nature. And I must have her devotional. 🙄

Now, let me tell you about my friends...I’ve never met Amy. I’ve never met in person several of my friends. I was compelled to friend her on Facebook after reading some pretty profound, but simple truths of hers, on our mutual friends’ postings. Does this make any sense? Anyway, I’m not a serial-friender (apparently not a word), generally speaking, on Facebook. I’m careful about who I let in, and seldom request friends.

I like to think differently, learn, explore. I’ve become friends with several people, simply because they make me think, use my brain. We share a love of learning, or nature, humor, sunsets, sunrises, mountains, oceans, spiritual, or Jesus, whatever it is that brings us together. Many of them are exquisite writers, inspiring with words. I choose people who make me better, I want to be surrounded with wisdom, I need this. And these special souls, some younger, a few seasoned, many in-between, teach me when I pop on social media.

My teacher friends, how I wish you had taught me in my youth, in school. But now, you teach me.

I’m grateful for whatever brought us together, my friends. You make my life better.

Here’s a little HDT tonight. I feel this in my soul.

Strong.

We are stronger together, you and I.

xoxo
