I stopped by the grocery store on my way home, it's Friday night after all. Strolling the produce aisle someone announces over the speakers, in a fairly sarcastic voice:
Attention associates, pizza is now available in the break room.
I’m trying not to giggle as my eyes meet those of a gentleman, a very serious looking gentleman. With a perfectly straight face he tells me, ”Well, I think I’ll just skip dinner and have pizza.” No smile, nothing. He kept shopping as if he didn't say a word. I nearly busted a gut. Deep belly laugh. I was telling an associate what the man said, as I was at the checkout. I could hardly tell her the story. By the time I wrapped up my purchases, we were all laughing.
Ten to one he could have pulled it off. Walked in the break room and picked up a piece of pizza. It's all about the attitude.
I should've brought him home.
