We’re working together, getting to know one another. I love stories, all stories, everyone has one, I tell her. We go about our business, working. Later, she tells me about a good friend of hers who recently died. His name was Pete. He was diagnosed with ALS in his 20’s. Another friend of Pete’s asked him aren’t you mad, angry, you’re young, in love, and you’re handed this horrific diagnosis. Pete told his friend he believed he was meant to change the world. And change the world he did. You see, Pete started the whole ice bucket challenge. The attention, funds, brought to ALS, well, the numbers are astounding.
As she’s leaving, I get a hug, and she tells me, “I love your voice, it’s soothing. I could listen to you speak all day.”
GET OUT! 😳
Maybe it’s because she’s from Boston, I don’t know, but she seemed sincere.
Soothing voice, what do you know. 🤷♀️
Stories, man they’re good. I get busy and forget to write sometimes. Better late than never, right?
Maybe my job is just the best.
