A Real Bagel

A few months after I moved west, I stopped at our local bagel shop...

I had my first REAL bagel today, at Pearl Street Bagels.  Not a cardboard facsimile; a waste of calories. The REAL deal.  Y’all, it was good. Enjoying one is an experience, not just a meal. They also have freshly made assortments of cream cheese. I purchased an herb, and a sun dried tomato and olive mix. Pure heaven. It is not your mother’s cream cheese…or Philadelphia cream cheese. (If it is, please don’t burst my bubble.)

Also on the menu was Carrot Ginger Chive soup. My nose kinda curled up, as I’ve never tasted carrot soup, never wanted to taste carrot soup. I'm thinking "where's the beef?" On a whim I purchased a cup. Divine. Who knew? Now I think I need to learn how to make this myself. I’ve already been on Pinterest. I cannot wait to get my pots and pans out of storage and cook.
