The Close Call
Â
George W apparently snuck out while I was taking my boots off yesterday, a.m. My neighbor came down right after I shut my door. He sees George outside, his dog tries to 'help' fetch GW, and over the rail George goes. Wasn't able to find him anywhere. I walked around like the crazy cat lady, calling his name, several times throughout the day. Nothing like a woman in pajama pants and Army t-shirt wondering around yelling 'George, George W...'
Â
Dang it. Maggie and I like that cat. He's funny. I prayed he would come home, and also that he stayed warm in the meantime. I left the door cracked for him. All. Day.Â
Â
I take Maggie out for her final potty last night. The wind is blowing like a Texas tornado. I've never seen nor heard anything like it, while living in Wyoming.Â
Â
I call one more time for George. I hear a faint meow. He's stuck behind a 4 ft drift. I'm freezing because I didn't take gloves or hat, but I'm getting that cat. I fetch the shovel and dig.Â
Â
I'm telling you it's a miracle I found the little fella.
Â
Oh my goodness I was grateful. Didn't even know I liked him so much. Why was I in tears? Stupid cat.Â
Â
He ends up running up the snow drift reaching to the second floor, and into our home.
Â
He acted like it was no big deal. 😼
