Friday...I should’ve taken time for breakfast. Nope.
Coffee’s ready, infused with a ton of newly purchased pumpkin spice creamer, topped with a ton of whipped topping (to honor mountains and snow, but mostly because I like whipped topping). I’m ready to inhale today’s lifeblood.
Scoot that little cup across the counter, hop, scoot cup again BAM...coffee everywhere.
Somehow my cup caught on my counter, spilled onto the floor, barely missing carpet.
Maggie turns her head sideways, asking me what just happened.
For a second I was frustrated, maybe a couple seconds.
Clean your mess, Deb, and get on with the day, I tell myself. Maggie, I say, I almost cried, coffee everywhere. Instead, we laughed. Well, I laughed. Maggie watched.
Last week a gentleman told me I’m learning patience. Come a little closer sir, SWACK, I hit him with my crutch. I got your patience darlin’.
Not really. I smiled, told him indeed, I’m learning patience. Ongoing.
So far, so good.
I’m overwhelmed with all acts of kindness.
Lots of stories to be told.
