Well, I had a visitor from Texas, friend of 35 years. Yep I did. Man it was good. I’m really, really tired but I had so much fun.
I could have sat out on the balcony last night until 1:30 a.m. however, I knew better. We stayed up late the first night, and Scout’s honor, I’m still recuperating. We had a blast, I dined out more than ever, laughed hard, and learned not to judge, yet again.
We toured Yellowstone - in three and a half years I’ve never visited Yellowstone. Our van mates were unique and fun.
Towards the end of the trip, it’s the mom and I, in the van. Her hip is hurting. She said she has 800 mg ibuprofen when she gets home. And if that doesn’t work, she has 7.5 mg hydrocodone. She tells me, in March, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer in both kidneys, lungs, bones, and her hip.
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. We had been walking Yellowstone, laughing about life, not a care in the world.
Our van mate has a very serious, life threatening illness.
She never complained.
Meeting people, sharing stories, enriches our lives.
Stories can be tough.
We meet for reasons unknown to us, most of the time.
Bear one another’s burdens.
