Tea Time

Let's chat. Today's topic: apathy. Desiring full understanding, I turn to my beloved dictionary.

apathy

[ ap-uh-thee ]

noun

absence or suppression of passion, emotion, or excitement

lack of interest in or concern for things that others find moving or exciting

indifference

Also ap·a·thei·a, ap·a·thi·a  [ap-uh-thee-uh] /ˌæp əˈθi ə/. Stoicism. freedom from emotion of any kind

Today our focus will be indifference, not giving a rat's tush concerning performance, attitude.

Often apathy partners with ignorance. Remember, ignorance doesn't mean stupid. Lack of knowledge better defines ignorance. For definition sake, let's pull out our beloved dictionary once again.

ignorance

[ ig-ner-uh ns ]

noun

the state or fact of being ignorant; lack of knowledge, learning, information, etc.

Is ignorance bliss, or does ignorance, when we possess all tools to enlighten, and choose not to enlighten, lead to stupidity?

Just asking...for a friend.

A position of authority requires either commitment or resignation. There is no room, no gray (fifty shades), for apathy.

Apathy is contagious. I've received my apathetic vaccination. Are booster vac's necessary? Probably. There is no room in my life for half-assed living, work, or play. My DNA, your DNA is not wired for apathy. Joy, peace, hope, happiness, giving, love, tenacity, we are hard wired for these.

Don't let others convince you every single thing sucks. It doesn't have to suck. However, taking action, making changes, are necessary.

(I still think running sucks. Most of the time.)

Moral to the story: don't be a wallflower. Stand up, make a positive difference, not Pollyanna, but real.

Attitude addressed by each individual leads to positive change. I'm confident in my assertion, opinion.
