Homeless in America Part Two

More details, concerning homelessness in America, more specifically Texas, continue to be disturbing. No one should be homeless in America. Ever. Veterans should never find themselves homeless. Ever.

"Today was hard! At one of our stops a homeless friend Rhonda was found dead in a field by where we stop on 11th and Clay while we were there. Prayers for her boyfriend and the homeless community.

Then stopped by Salvation Army and an older man had been dropped off there from the Temple VA. That’s right a veteran who has served our country dropped off, nowhere to go! Can’t get in the building till 6. Left to walk the streets! Shame on America! We see so many veterans on the streets. This is deplorable!! Yet 3 blocks away sits the wealth of Waco! Wish they would take interest in our homeless under their noses!

Throw some money to Salvation Army to be able to do more ... they are your neighbor.

Thankful God has put me where He has. So much more to do down there! There is also so much happiness too.... but I’m not happy ...Veterans need a break!!! God bless us all! Luke 3:11"

Phyllis Ann messaged me this last night, details, more of the story, concerning Gary:

"We take sack lunches and water also clothing...out on the 3rd Saturday. A group from Waco Street Ministry goes out every Sat. We caravan to different sites . This was at 11th and Clay.

Gary had walked up and gotten some blue jeans. He walked back over where a tree line is behind where we pulled in a vacant lot. He saw his girlfriend laying on the ground and came back to get Christy and Sarah ... said she was foaming at the mouth... Russell went with them where they found her dead. She had been in the hospital, legs very swollen.

I talked with Russell today and he said he went to hug Gary to comfort him and one of the cops said ... there are cameras everywhere... Russell said he told him I was just hugging him ...

When I went today He has slept right next to where she died on a piece of plywood .. there was a wet blanket there... so sad. I will be taking him some more things tomorrow. He’s going to ask permission to put the tent up I got him right there.

The pic of him getting shoes was from earlier .. a friend managed to get brand new brand name shoes ... she took names and sizes.. it was an ordeal but an amazing thing that brought more trust.

They got their feet washed, new socks and new shoes!

I’m telling you it takes a village!!!

Oh, Gary does not know where they took her... it was a crazy day... he was taken in and interrogated. Now the buzz around is he shot her in the head. He told me he had heard that. I just heard it from a homeless friend that rode the bus today! God bless him!!

She was not shot anywhere!"

Did you read this? Their feet were washed before their new socks and shoes were put on their feet.
